It’s December and the year’s clocking towards the end. Now what does that mean? That the New Year will begin soon. It also means it’s time for something we all love to do any given day, any time of the year – it’s time for the New Year Eve party! Let me help you plan the perfect New Year Eve party this year.
-
Follow a Color Theme
Personally, I love the gold theme for New Year’s Eve. But you can opt for any other color which strikes your fancy too. Let your guests know of the color theme and they can add a something or two in their outfits as well.
-
Festive Decorations
The New Year party is all about festivity and celebration. And the décor of the venue should be in accordance with this cheerful spirit. I suggest having festive ribbons in the theme color around staircase railings, a decorative wreath at the doorway entrance, colorful baubles hanging from the ceiling near the table, etc. Light up the hall where the party will be held with fairy lights and battery-operated candles and throw around balloons filled with confetti for some added effect.
-
Gift Bags
There is nothing that can light up your guests’ eyes as much as a gift bag. Fill it up with interesting tit bits, such as music CD of famous songs of the year gone by, a few chocolate truffles, inexpensive charm bracelets, and a small pocket journal.
-
Food and Beverages
No party’s complete without something to eat. Have some finger foods, mini hamburgers, bruschettas, nachos, bacon-pork pops, whoopee pies for easy-to-eat and filling food items. Serve martini, cocktails and scotch to spice up the New Year Eve party.
-
Masks
Want to make your party even more interesting? Have a masquerade theme handing out fun masks to guests at the entrance. Enjoy the ensuing funny confusion as people try to guess who someone behind the mask actually is.
-
Blowouts, Trumpets and Horns
No New Year party is complete without some noise, and the louder the better is the rule for most of them. Stock up on blowouts, mini trumpets and horns which you can honk off with friends and family for some crazy fun time.
-
Games
Just eating, eating and talking won’t make the party complete. What else do you need? Some activity and games. Set up some short board games for guests to play in groups, set up a table tennis or ping pong table for some physical activity, have group games such as passing the pillow. You can even go a little techno, setting up Wii or PlayStation games for your guests to enjoy.
-
New Year Resolutions
Have the last half hour before the clock strikes 12 for all your guests to discuss their New Year resolutions in a circle. Laugh and smile at some funny, and some serious resolutions people may have.
-
Countdown Time!
With just a few seconds left before the New Year begins, join hands with the guests and have a countdown till the New Year. And then shout out HAPPY NEW YEAR in chorus!
There! That’s a perfect New Year Eve for you
