Every time Women’s day is celebrated on this planet, my heart swells with pride on being a woman. In every walk of life, in all the different spheres, we’ve made remarkable contributions, be it social service, politics, science or even domestic responsibilities. And we’ve done it every time with a smile on our faces, braving it through a man’s world.
Guess what really makes me smile from ear to ear when I see strong women anywhere in the world? That the very beauty and essence of femininity that makes us who we are is still cherished and preserved, no matter how manly a job we may be doing. And thanks to fashion (wink, wink), we manage to look gorgeous no matter what we do!
We Inspire…And We Get Inspired!
Does Michelle Obama’s remarkable contribution in the area of child obesity motivate you to do something great yourself? Or have you been a role model for a younger sibling or a little girl in the neighborhood for the work you do? Be it Michelle Obama’s chic elegance, or Queen Rania’s graceful fashion choices, or Freida Pinto’s natural beauty, or the sophisticated style of Dambisa Moyo – Zambian-born economist and New York Times best-selling author – or inspiring outfit choices of Funmi Iyanda – award-winning broadcaster, journalist, columnist and blogger of Nigeria; there are lots of us in every corner of the world proving that we can do it and look good along the way!
Looking dazzling as we go about our daily tasks, we continue to inspire each other in ways more than one. With the right fashion choices and great style sense, we make all the hard work seem so effortless that men are left wondering, “Hey, how does she do it?”
In Every Walk Of Life, We Leave A Strong, Yet Fashionable Imprint
Be it in the boardroom, or the sports field, the courtroom or even at the grocery aisle, women today don’t ever say no. Our can-do attitude never fails us, regardless of the task at hand. And we’ve worked out ways to look beautiful too as we do it. For the sporty ones, there’s fashionable sportswear; for the corporate girl, there are sleek pantsuits and pencil skirts; and yet again for the lady doctors, there are sophisticated dress choices to ensure they are able to show off their femininity as they go about their daily business.
Brace Your Identity, And Do It In Style!
Yes, we are all proud of being women and we love being beautiful. So why shouldn’t we let our softer side out with the right dose of fashion statements here and there?
Renee’s Advice for today: Dear fashionistas, all over the world, embrace your true style wherever you are, whatever you do – and pay no heed to any cutting remarks anyone makes about you!
Here’s a beautiful verse by Maya Angelou that I’d like to dedicate to all women out there:
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
The palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
