I’m REALLY excited about today’s post, and I am sure all of you are just going to love what I have in store for you.
The thing is, I’ve got many gorgeous friends and clients who are plus sized and I’m always, always trying to convince them to break free from silly fashion rules (like no horizontal stripes, skinnies, shorts, bold colors) and embrace all sorts of colors, prints, patterns and silhouettes as long as they flatter their proportions, but after all these years of being conditioned, it’s hard for most of them to just love their curves and wear whatever they deem fit even if it goes against some outdated standards.
So today, I’m not going to say anything, rather I’ll let Abi do all the talking through her pictures.
First Look
Peplum top and skinny jeans…Abi is off to a strong start! She has broken two rules already and looks great carrying off the fit and flare look effortlessly.
Second Look
Abi is rocking it out in a light blue denim jacket on top of the dark colored skinny. The denim jacket lends some nice structure to the casual, laid back look.
Third Look
A closer look at the necklace shows it’s made up of several long dangling fringy bits that look fun.
Fourth Look
Large bright floral prints, lovely pops of neon, funky accessories…isn’t this what spring is all about? Abi has thrown wind to the caution and is going bold with colors, prints and accessories. I love how she wears the wide black belt right below her bust (instead of lower down) to accentuate her waist.
Fifth Look
What’s there to be afraid of in horizontal stripes? Abi busts another myth with this punchy coral top with a pretty horizontal striped pencil skirt. As long as the shade of the color is the right tone for your skin and the piece with horizontal stripes has the right cut, you can make anything work.
Sixth Look
I added another picture of Abi in horizontal stripes, just because… This shirtdress really brings out the color in her cheeks, and don’t you guys agree the flattering fit and shape of this horizontal striped shirt dress make her look sooper cute?
Seventh Look
How can a stylish fashionista not own a leopard print? It’s a challenging task for many plus sized girls to even think about wearing shorts, this is how you rock those shorts, gals…
Eighth Look
Just a bit of layering, and you’ve got a completely different look with a very different feel to it. Abi adds a dark denim blazer to the top and a black tee underneath the leopard print dress, and voila, she’s all set for hanging outside even if the night turns chilly.
Ninth Look
We’ve seen enough casual and semi-formal looks; it’s time for a formal look now. Abi’s multi patterned maxi dress with a lapel neckline is accessorized with some gold jewelry and a matching clutch.
Tenth Look
Abi’s dress is cinched at the waist with a slim belt.
Eleventh Look
Honestly speaking I’m not a fan of charm jewelry, or for that matter any sort of gold jewelry with dangling bits, but somehow this jewelry set works really well, and looks cute on Abi.
Twelfth Look
A ring from the same collection with a matching gold clutch, perfect to get you in the wedding party mode!
Love you Abi for smashing those outdated silly rules to smithereens and for providing some much needed body positivity, you go girl!
