The best thing about fashion is how diverse it is, don’t you agree? An outfit change here, a stroke of eye liner there, a change in the shade of lipstick or, at times, not doing anything at all – and you can become a completely different person in just a few minutes. And when you’ll look at Lauren Hogue here, I’m sure you’ll agree with me all the more.
First Look
I’ve always felt there’s something graceful and very luxurious about white. In her toned down makeup, simple white dress and furs adding to the richness of the look, Lauren looks no less than a royalty. And those eyes! Shining bright and blue, aren’t they just to die for?
Second Look
You guessed it right! This look of Lauren’s is inspired by the Queen of Hearts (aka the Red Queen) in Alice in Wonderland. Doesn’t she look adorable in this, defying the foul-tempered nature of the Red Queen? Girls, getting this makeup to such perfection is not easy, but Lauren makes it look like a piece of cake.
Third Look
Lauren’s image here reminds me of the 1950s, especially the hair style that looks like it’s been inspired by Marilyn Monroe. There’s also something really retro about the dark, red lips and the defined eyeliner. But I like how these mix with the glam appeal of the black tights and knee high boots.
Fourth Look
Now that’s what I call transformation. From her previous photographs with some really bold make-up, isn’t this a totally new Lauren, almost like another person? That’s what I’m talking about when I say fashion’s gotta be versatile. She’s put on bare makeup here – simple eye liner, subtle lip gloss, no jewelry – and yet this is a look that will want you to look twice at her.
Fifth Look
Check out how Lauren has gone from the sultry look earlier to this innocent look that will make you go awwww… Against the pale makeup base and bright red lips, her blue eyes just pop out beautifully like a baby’s – definitely some good makeup techniques for the baby-collared top she’s wearing. Cuddles, anyone?
Sixth Look
Once again, we get to see how to let a few statement pieces do the magic. I’ve always stressed that overdoing on jewelry is not a good idea, and it looks like Lauren has been listening to me! With a simple color-block dress, amazing minimalist make-up, creative updo and no other jewelry, she does let the luxurious pearls do all the talking.
Seventh Look
In this photograph, Lauren’s make-up looks similar to the one in the previous photograph. Again, her selection of simple clothes and funky jewelry makes for a great combination. What I’ve noticed is Lauren has been very creative with her hairstyle, quite similar to what you’d expect of a model at the runway. Hats off to her creativity!
Eighth Look
It may look like a photograph from a decades old album, but it’s pretty much 2013. Important lessons to learn? Go for vintage makeup if you’re opting for a retro hairstyle, velvety coats add a rich, luxurious feel to it, and you can never go wrong with black knee high boots!
Lauren has really played around with different tricks and techniques in all these photographs and I really appreciate her creativity in all the shots. Each image is different from the others and really wows you up. Now that’s what we call a seriously creative fashionista!
