Girls love being organized, be it their rooms, their office work stations, their study tables or even their handbags! In fact, a handbag is a tiny little world of its own for any girl, and keeping this world as orderly as possible only goes a long way in making any woman more efficient and more at ease in any situation.

If you’re still trailing far behind in the line of those who keep their bags organized, worry not. Let me take you through the following steps to keep the contents of your everyday bag organized.

Step 1: Get Rid Of The Trash

Get Rid Of The Trash

We are all guilty of shoving in a lot of scrap in our bags. Be it used movie tickets, parking tickets, receipts of clothes worn long ago, tissue papers or candy wrappers; somehow our bags become the favorite destination of these useless tits bits. The risk of this litter inside is that often important bits and pieces of paper get lost or are thrown away. So once a week, empty the contents of your bag and get rid of the useless stuff.

Step 2: Assign Everything Else Into Categories

Once the space-taking scraps have been ridden off, see how you can categorize the remaining things that you need to carry. For example, make-up will be one category, money, visiting cards and credit cards will be another. Similarly, $1 bills or coins can be a separate category and so can receipts and tickets or even basic medicines.

Step 3: Allocate A Place For Each Category

Once you’ve organized all the things you need to put into different categories, keep them in separate places. If your bag has lots of spacious built-in pockets, use them. If not, get small zippered pouches that are light in weight and preferably see-through (for e.g. made of net) to keep all the contents separated as per your self-made groupings.

Step 4: Don’t Forget A Safe Pocket For Your Cell Phone

You’ll need your cell phone more often than you think. And you’ll need it to be as easily reachable as possible, and yet not just dangling around. Make sure the pocket where you keep your cell phone is secure, as well as readily accessible; such as a zippered pocket towards the outside of the bag.

Step 5: Get Pocket-Sized Make-Up Items

Be it a lip balm, blush-on, hair-brush or perfume; use the miniature versions of these for your handbag. If you don’t have the mini-sized ones with you already, go buy some today. We’re sure you’ll thank us and not scorn over spending money on products you already had in large bulky containers.

Step 6: Slide In A Pen And A Small Paper Pad

For any random thought, to pass on a message or number, or for any random calculations that you probably will need to make, always keep a pen and paper handy in your bag. You’ll never lose anything written at the back of a parking ticket this way!

Step 7: Go Through The Make-Up Checklist

Go Through The Make-Up Checklist

While you don’t have to carry an entire salon with you, make sure you always have these basics:

  • Eyeliner
  • Pocket Mirror
  • Blush
  • Concealer
  • Lipstick or Lip Gloss
  • Small Bottle of Perfume

Once all these steps are complete, you’re all set to step out with your perfect handbag :) !
