Paris, the hub of all things fashion, Jessica Alba the stylish fashionista that makes all men drool and all girls go green with envy, the woman voted “sexiest woman in the world” a couple of years ago and Kenzo…sounds like the ultimate combination? NOT!! Three rights made for one horrible WRONG at the Paris Fashion Week
We’re not even going to get into talk about silhouette, structure, shape, or how to do oversized correctly…. I just can’t get past the fact that this is a bath gown, I mean calling it a cobalt colored Kimono style/ Kimono inspired dress is just a really fancy and really inaccurate description of what was essentially a really baggy bathrobe in an unflattering material…plus, I’m sure, all those lovely kimonos out there would be feeling pretty affronted at this comparison.
Granted designers lend clothes to celebs from their collections if Alba was trying to promote Kenzo, promote she did, but definitely not in a way that did Kenzo any favors, honestly, the only person who I can imagine wearing this is………..no one, actually!
I actually have a theory that explains what happened. My gut feeling is that there’s some doppleganger of Alba’s from an alternate Willie Wonka-ish world who’s trying hard to dispel Jessica’s sex goddess image, don’t agree with me…, check out the shoes! (Yes, exactly!)
Or maybe, somebody probably forgot to tell her that Red Nose Day wasn’t till a few weeks after and inspired by Marc Jacobs, Alba decided to rock the I-just-got-out-of-bed look…. Epic fail!
Or maybe it’s just baby blues, whatever it was, it did help us bust a myth: the myth that if you look like Alba you can get away with wearing anything…99.9% of all men who saw this picture got over their crush for Alba (the remaining 0.1% is her husband)…now that must have made a lot of women happy.
